Merida Ride 400

Getting up every morning and cycling 100 miles everyday for 9 days ,
“You must be mad” said my wife, “No” I said.” We are just lucky that we are able to do it”

Originally from Amesbury in Wiltshire, I served for 13 years in the Army, Grenadier Guards and Royal Military Police.During my service in Germany I met my wife and after leaving the Army in 97 decided to settle down in Kiel , North Germany.

In the spring of 2014 I bought a mountain bike, my only objective being, getting out and hopefully recovering some of my youthful fitness. A few months later I volunteered, along with Neil Trebble to do a charity bike ride, not any bike ride, but the gruelling John O’Groates to Lands End bike ride. Since then I’ve been hooked and have cycled about 7000 miles, mostly on the European continent .

Although I have no connection to Stevenage or the Lister Hospital, it’s all about helping where you can, every little helps. I’m extremely exited about joining this team and looking forward to this massive challenge and hope I can be of help with my experience on the continent .
